Ninety two year old Hilda Wells who has fostered 42 children during a lifetime of service to her local community in Woodside has been crowned ‘Community Champion’ at an awards ceremony held by Watford Community Housing Trust on Saturday 19 May. Hilda, who lives on The Brow, continues to be an active force in her community .

Local talent was on show again on Saturday April 28th when performers young and old took part in the annual Woodside Talent Show at the Church of the Nazarene, on The Brow.
This year's show featured a mix of young singers as well as speciality acts .
Among them the Watford Eclipse Majorettes, and up and coming young drummer Harry Adams, as well as the return of two talented performers from the Francis Combe Academy - stand-up comedian Armin Szabados and the ever popular Jay Borthwick with his spectacular magic and dance act.
Spanning the ages was the youngest and oldest performers in this year's show - seven year old Ayran Faraboushehri and 82 year old former boy soprano -Kevin Erickson.
